I just recently bought some Superior tribal polyester thread that is giving me fits. (I normally use king tut) Do you have any metallic needles for this type of thread, or do you have any suggestions.  I keep backing off the tension, and it will go for a while, then it starts breaking the top thread every 10-12 inches.  So, I back off the tension again.  Should I maybe adjust the bobbin tension?

Have you tried putting the King Tut back in to see if it works.  It is probably the thread that is

causing you the problems.

We do not have Metallic Needles.  Try loosening your top tension way up to see if that helps.  You

If it helps, you will probably need to loosen the bobbin tension also to make your stitches look even.

I just took a class on threads and tension, they said to try a 14 needle and bobbin tension looser than you like and  Top tension very loose.
