The Original Machine Quilting Frame will work with any sewing machine up to

An 11” Throat Depth.  Any larger of a throat depth and your machine would not have

Room in the quilting area of the frame.

If you are purchasing a machine larger than 11”, you would want to purchase the

Stretch Machine Quilting Frame.

I understand that most mid-arms have an 11-17" throat. I would like to purchase one in the 11-13" range. Would that be too big for your original frame? If so, can the platform be adapted to hold a machine of that size?

I just took a class on threads and tension, they said to try a 14 needle and bobbin tension looser than you like and  Top tension very loose.

I had the same problem but it seemed to only skip when moving up.  I also noticed it happened when I was quilting  closest to the front bar.  I turned the speed up to go slightly faster than I was moving and also lowered the quilt position down.  I change my needle often and also use an 18 or 16 needle with a thicker thread. King Tut 40 thread.
I did attempted the timing once.  It did not appear to be off but I did go through the timing instrustions.

I was told by the vendor that the skipping happens when going to fast but I seem to have overcome the problem.
Hope it works for you.  Do you have a stitch regulator?  I do not.  I did just purchase one.  Maybe that will cause more problems, dont know.  Undecided

I have had the Voyager SLR for a couple of years now. For some reason, whenever I change directions I get about 2 or 3 long stitches, unless I physically slow down my speed. I thought the SLR was supposed to ensure consistent stitches regardless of speed. I adjusted my Min and Max when I first set up my SLR, but it had no impact on this problem. I have a friend locally that has the same Voyager, SLR and frame and she has the same problem. Any suggestions as to why this happens and what I can do to fix it?
